🌱 How a Plant Grows from a Seed
Plants are living things. A plant grows from a seed. Slide to watch it grow!
Stage 1: A dormant seed resting in the soil.
Parts of a plant:
The root absorbs water and nutrients, the stem carries them upwards, and green leaves make food with sunlight.
Green Plants:
Most plants are green. Green plants can make their own food! Green plants need sunlight to make food.
Herbs & Creepers
Herbs
🌿Herbs are small plants.
They have short stems that are soft and tender (mint, rosemary, sage).
Creepers
🍇Creepers are climbing plants.
They have weak stems that trail on the ground or climb on supports (ivy, watermelon vine).
Shrubs & Trees
Shrubs
🌳Shrubs are bushy plants.
They have many leaves and branches growing close to the ground.
Trees
🌲Trees are very big plants.
They have hard, thick woody stems called trunks.
